Learn why your ad may appear on Google and other search engines, and how to remove it from search results if you wish.
- Public and active ads may be automatically indexed by search engines.
- Indexing increases your ad's visibility beyond the website itself.
- If you do not want your ad to appear in search results, you can suspend or delete it from your Dashboard.
- Removal from Google and other search engine results is not immediate and may take several days.
Why Your Ad Appears on Google and Other Search Engines
To increase the visibility of public ads, the site uses Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques. As a result, search engines such as Google can automatically crawl and index the site's public pages.
This allows your ad to appear in search results when users search for related content, even if they do not visit the website directly.
What It Means for an Ad to Be Indexed
Indexing is the process through which search engines collect and store information from public web pages and then display it in relevant search results.
Only public and active ads can be indexed. Suspended or deleted ads are no longer considered for indexing.
How to Prevent Your Ad from Appearing in Search Engines
If you would like to remove your ad from search results, you can suspend or delete it directly from your Dashboard:
- Log in to your account.
- Open your Dashboard.
- Locate the ad you want to remove from search results.
- Select "Suspend" or "Delete", depending on your preference.
Once the ad has been suspended or deleted, it will no longer be available on the site. However, search engines may continue to display it temporarily until their indexes are updated.
What Information Can Be Displayed in Search Engines
Search engines can only display the public content of your ad.
The following information is neither indexed nor displayed:
- Private or restricted content.
- Login credentials and passwords.
- Private information associated with your account.
Common Issues
I suspended my ad, but it still appears on Google
This is normal. After an ad is suspended, Google and other search engines may take several days to update their results and remove the ad.
I deleted my ad, but it still appears in search results
This is also normal. Permanent removal from search results depends on the update schedules of search engines and cannot be accelerated by the website. We recommend waiting a few days for the update process to be completed.
