In this article, we explain why Skokka may block the publication of your ad when you are connected from another country or using a VPN, and how to quickly resolve the issue.
Why was my ad blocked?
To publish an ad on Skokka, you must be connected to an internet network (IP) from the same country where you want to publish it. If the system detects that your connection originates from another country, the publication will be automatically blocked.
What is a foreign IP?
An IP address identifies the country your internet connection is coming from. If this location does not match the country of the ad, the system will prevent publication.
I am using a VPN. What should I do?
Disable the VPN before attempting to publish your ad. When a VPN is active, your connection may appear to come from a different country, which can trigger an automatic block. Once your ad is published, you can safely turn the VPN back on.
I’m not using a VPN, but it’s still blocked. What could be the reason?
Some internet networks route traffic through servers located in other countries without the user being aware. In these cases, we recommend
- trying to publish using your mobile data.
- trying a different internet network
- If the issue persists, contact support.
I have corrected my IP. Do I need to wait before publishing?
No. As soon as your connection is correct, you can try again immediately. The unblock is instant.
Can I publish in a country different from current location?
This depends on your account profile and the reason for the request. In some cases, it may be possible to publish in a different country To check if your account is eligible and request an exception, contact Skokka support.
Can support manually remove the block?
No. The block is automatic and cannot be removed manually. Support can help you troubleshoot your connection, but they cannot publish the ad on your behalf
